Latest Updates from Our Project:

Print Book Timeline, PDF on DTRPG & itch.io, & a New Campaign!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, Jun 07, 2021 at 12:37:22 AM

Hi everyone! A slightly long update this time, but we have a lot to tell you.

As of midnight tonight, all of you should have received an email with a link to download the Mage to Order PDF. At this time there are less than ten backers who haven't claimed their reward, so if you're one of those few, please check your spam folders to make sure your link hasn't gotten lost along the way. If you still can't find it, please email me at [email protected], and I will be happy to track it down for you.

Because we've largely finished digital distribution, we're going to be releasing the PDF of the Mage to Order core book for the public to purchase on DriveThruRPG, itch.io and the Drowning Moon Studios website tomorrow. We're also going to take the next week or two off so we can have a break, before sending our specs to the printer for physical copies, and beginning work on the PDF adventure, "Cut Him Out in Little Stars." As mentioned in our previous update, we've locked surveys for add-ons, but if you still want a physical copy of the book, you can still purchase it separately through our pre-order store on Backerkit. Final surveys are still unlocked, so you can change your address before things ship, but expect addresses to lock for all backers toward the end of July. Physical books are still expected to ship in August, and backers who purchased the PDF adventure should also get those around the same time.

Now that we're in the process of fulfilling orders for Mage to Order, we wanted to mention that we'll be launching another Kickstarter this October for a game called Follow Me Down. Follow Me Down is a two-player, GM-less tabletop roleplaying game, inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice from Greek mythology. It uses the Powered by the Apocalypse rules engine, and is a powerful, intimate roleplaying experience. As with our previous campaign, the book for Follow Me Down is already complete, and awaiting additional art, layout and a final round of editing. The Kickstarter campaign will largely be to fund the print run and any additional artwork we decide to add. We'll be releasing a pay-what-you want version of the quickstart for Follow Me Down in mid-June, so people can get a taste of the game before deciding to back.

Follow our preview page to be notified when the Kickstarter for Follow Me Down goes live this fall: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/drowningmoonstudios/follow-me-down

And that brings us to the end of our announcements. We're going to be a bit quieter over the next few weeks as we continue to fulfill orders, but expect a monthly update in July, and a final update in August. Thank you once again for backing Mage to Order, and we hope you enjoy the game!

PDF Distribution
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jun 03, 2021 at 12:46:35 PM

Hi all! Backers should have just received a reminder email that we'll be locking down add-ons and new orders before PDF distribution within 48 hours. This means you will not be able to make changes to your order after Friday. This does not mean you will be unable to update your shipping information! I know it's a little confusing, but I want to make it crystal clear that you can still change your shipping address until the end of July, you just won't be able to purchase add-ons after Friday.

Once add-ons are locked, you should receive an email from Backerkit with a link to the zip file with the Mage to Order PDF, plain text version, and fillable character sheet. If you do not receive the link to your zip file by the end of this weekend, please email me at [email protected]!

That's all for now. I'll continue to update you regarding progress on the print book and PDF adventure throughout the rest of June and July. I hope you enjoy the PDF and thank you again for your patience and support.

PDF Timeline & New Cover
almost 3 years ago – Sat, May 29, 2021 at 12:15:26 AM

Hi everyone! I don't want to spam you with too many posts, but I did want to give you a brief update about the timeline for receiving your PDFs. I'm in the process of finishing layout on the book, but this week I had a couple of real-life things that had to take precedence. Because of this, I'm two or three days behind where I expected to be. Instead of pushing myself and potentially delivering sub-par work, I'd much rather take the time and create something with the level of quality I feel you deserve. Thus, you can expect to receive your PDF of Mage to Order sometime next week, before Sunday, June 6, 2021. The deadline for the physical book remains unchanged and you can still expect to receive those and the digital adventure before the end of August.

In the meantime, we just received the cover art for the game from Nana Luv, and it is absolutely gorgeous! If you haven't seen it yet, take a look below and you'll see what I mean:

We're in the home stretch, so thanks for sticking with us. Only a few more days before you get to see the final product!

Last Day to Get Your Names in the Book
almost 3 years ago – Mon, May 24, 2021 at 03:21:13 PM

Hey everyone!

We wanted to remind you that today is the last day to confirm your e-mail addresses for the PDF, and to get your name in the book. If you haven't filled out your survey yet, please make sure you do so by the end of the day. We will not be locking surveys until late July/early August, so you'll still be able to make changes before physical books ship.

Speaking of the PDF, it should be ready to land in your e-mail boxes this weekend, so keep an eye out for that. We'll also be including the editable character sheet, so you should be able to jump right into playing. The physical book and PDF adventure are still on track for August fulfillment, and we'll continue to keep you updated on our progress.

Thank you once again for supporting Mage to Order, and we're looking forward to showing you the finished game!

Backerkit Survey Deadlines
almost 3 years ago – Tue, May 18, 2021 at 12:44:37 AM

Hi everyone,

Last week, on 5/10/2021, we sent out Backerkit surveys for all backers. As of this moment, 88% of you have responded, which is fantastic! We are still on schedule to deliver the PDF of Mage to Order at the end of the month, and print books in August. We also want to ensure everyone who backed the campaign gets their rewards on time, and is mentioned on the "thank you" page in the book. To do this, please make sure you fill out your survey by next Monday, 5/24/2021. We'll send one more reminder on Sunday, but anyone who responds after 5/24 may not receive their rewards on time.

Once again, thank you for your support and we look forward to delivering the PDF to you by the end of the month!
